Bangor Hydro Electric Company to Host Maine Winter Expo 2009 Strengthening Maines Energy Future

Bangor, ME-- Bangor Hydro Electric Company will host the Maine Winter Expo 2009, Strengthening Maine's Energy Future, on Wednesday, September 23, from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at Spectacular Event Center on Griffin Road in Bangor. The event will offer valuable information and resources for residential and small to medium commercial customers to prepare for the coming winter.

The Expo will feature two concurrent tracks of focus for customers to choose from: Track I: Energy Solutions for Today; Track II: Energy Solutions for Tomorrow. Presentations and Displays will take place throughout the day along with drawings for items such as energy audits, storm survival kits, gift certificates and more!

"With so much interest in alternative energy and stimulus funding for weatherization, we wanted to provide our customers with a wealth of information all in one place," said Jen Brooker, Customer Service Manager. "This Expo is one example of how Bangor Hydro is working to be an energy solutions provider."

Bangor Hydro will unveil a new rebate program available to customers who purchase qualifying energy-efficient heat pumps. In addition, Customer Service Representatives will be on hand to assist customers with budget plans and payment arrangements. There will also be representatives from Eastern Area Agency on Aging, Penquis, Efficiency Maine, United Way, Emergency Management Agencies, the Maine Weather Service, and agencies that offer low-interest loans, low-income assistance, energy audits, and heat pump technology.
