Bangor Hydro Electric Company

The Hancock County Reliability Project (HCRP) is a planned 14 mile, 115 kV transmission line that will create a redundant and higher capacity connection to Hancock County. It includes a proposed substation in the southern portion of Trenton, and will create a significant improvement to electric reliability in Hancock County. The route selected is approximately 70% co-located with existing lines. Those existing lines will continue to operate.

Permitting/Construction Update:

Bangor Hydro (BHE) has received all necessary permits and land rights required to build the project. Bangor Hydro Electric began clearing and line construction last fall. Bangor Hydro Electric selected Three Phase Line Construction to build the line and Cianbro to build the substation. You may contact Kendra Overlock, Project Manager at (207) 973-2895 or Steve Sloan, Permitting Manager at (207) 949-0205 with questions or concerns about construction.
